Thank you for your request for community giving from Tucson Orthopaedic Institute. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, all opportunities must be submitted via this website for consideration.

Since its foundation in 1994, Tucson Orthopaedic Institute (TucsonOrtho) has made it a priority to support the many organizations and programs that make our community a great place to live. Our commitment to community is expressed through a variety of outreach efforts, from employee volunteerism to financial support and sponsorship of successful health initiatives in the communities where we live and work.

Through charitable giving and sponsorships, our organization connects with patients, families, community leaders, and policy makers who are interested in making our communities safer and healthier. We respect all community-oriented projects but must limit our support. Please read the following information to see if your organization's project is a good fit for our funding priorities.

TucsonOrtho will consider support of and partnership with non-profit, tax exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations and programs with a primary focus in the following areas:

  • Safety and injury prevention for athletes, elderly, and young children
  • Orthopaedic and other medical research, disease prevention, and treatment
  • Fitness and musculoskeletal health and education
  • Improving the quality of patient care

Check-In for Charity

TucsonOrtho also supports organizations through our Check In for Charity program. Learn more about how your organization could benefit in the section below.

Check In for Charity

Make your sponsorship go further with the TucsonOrtho Check In for Charity program!

You spread the word and we share the wealth - in a healthy participatory way!

What is it?

TucsonOrtho's Check In for Charity goes further than the Community Giving program; it encourages community members to actively support your organization by connecting to Foursquare and checking-in to your event - which gives you more!

For every unique check-in on Foursquare, at an approved location and during a pre-determined timeframe, Tucson Orthopaedic Institute will donate .50¢* to support your cause!

How can my organization use TucsonOrtho Check In for Charity program to raise money?

Organizations can apply for the program by completing our form and submitting these to us via email at TOIgiving@tucsonortho.com.

Each organization can choose their Check-in Location and once approved (see criteria below), TucsonOrtho will create it on Foursquare. Then, we will notify you of the 2 week window when supporters can check in to increase the donation for your organization.

Approved locations for check-ins must be associated with the non-profit organization in some way, either by affiliation, event location, or use of location for activities - such as practices or competition. Only one check-in per person, during the approved campaign timeframe, will be counted towards the gift to your organization. Additional rules apply, such as limits to final gift amount and check-in location.

When we give you the GO! just tell your members and friends to tell their friends, who can tell their friends, and soon you'll accumulate the check-ins needed for us to send you a healthy check*.

It's up to each organization to determine how to best use available program ads, materials and signage to promote your location for the TucsonOrtho Check In for Charity program. The more you promote, the more you raise.

* Maximum donation per charity applies.

See our Tips on Promoting your Check In for Charity Location.
