Tucson surgeon Lawrence R. Housman, M.D. has been elected President of the Western Orthopaedic Association (WOA). This post is a milestone in the career of any orthopaedic surgeon. It recognizes the achievements, leadership and professionalism built over a lifetime of dedication to the advancement of orthopaedics. With 1500 members throughout the Western U.S. and Canada, the WOA addresses crucial challenges facing orthopaedic surgeons today. access to timely orthopaedic care and patient safety issues. Dr. Housman also serves on the Board of Councilors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), and is an active member in Rincon Rotary. He spearheaded the annual playground building project by Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, extending the AAOS national “Prevent Injuries America” campaign to Tucson. Dr. Housman is in practice at the Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, 2424 N. Wyatt Drive. He specializes in joint replacements and sports medicine. |
