Orthopaedic surgeon Luis A. Piedrahita, MD, has joined Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, where he specializes in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and general orthopaedics.  Dr. Piedrahita is now in practice at the InstituteÕs east office at 2424 N. Wyatt Drive near Tucson Medical Center. 

Dr. Piedrahita is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He graduated from the Universidad Central del Ecuador, Quito, Ecuador, and then completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency programs at University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, N.C.  This was followed by completion of a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at the Shriners Hospital for Children, Portland Ð Oregon, and a second fellowship at the Starship Hospital for Children, Auckland, New Zealand.  In addition to English, Dr. Piedrahita speaks Spanish and German.
