Scott D. Goorman, M.D., a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, has joined Tucson Orthopaedic Institute’s Spine Center. The focus of Dr. Goorman’s practice is nonoperative treatment for spine disorders, including spine injections and electro-diagnostic studies (EMG’s). He is particularly interested in acute back injuries and acute back pain. Shoulders, knees and general musculoskeletal concerns that can benefit from conservative treatment will also be included in his practice.

Dr. Goorman was born in Chicago, and both he and his wife, Angie were raised in Cincinnati. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Austin, and then returned to Cincinnati for medical school and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

He met his wife Angie, an occupational therapist, at the medical school library where they were both “studying”. The couple and their two young children have lived the past 4 1⁄2 years in South Carolina. They enjoy golf, swimming, exercise and family time, and look forward to the outdoor lifestyle and big city benefits Tucson offers.
