Total Hip Replacement - Anterior Approach

Like conventional hip replacement surgery, the Anterior Approach replaces degenerated bone and cartilage of the hip joint due to arthritis. However, Anterior Total Hip Replacement is performed through the front of the hip and does not require the detachment or splitting of any muscles. This preserves muscle strength in patients and decreases the risk of dislocation post-surgery. To learn more about the benefits of this approach and the Total Joint specialists from Tucson Orthopaedic Institute who use the anterior technique, click here.
