Testimonials

Thank You to Dr. Hank's Medical Assistant
"I wish to commend Socorro for her hard-working ethic. Her attention to detail and her timeliness is very much appreciated. She has not once failed to address my pain concerns the same day of my telephoning her. Thank you, Socorro."

Sports Medicine

Sports MedicineTucson Orthopaedic's Sports Medicine surgeons are well-acquainted with big-time players, including Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, New York Giants, U of A Wildcats, Olympic Athletes, High School Heroes, and Weekend Warriors. The Sports Medicine Team has the special training and expertise that it takes to correctly address athletic injuries with a thorough understanding of both the importance and the risks of sports.

Orthopaedic sports medicine surgeons repair ankles, knees and shoulders; they also provide guidance for injury prevention. Heading off overuse syndromes, or ACL injuries, suggesting helpful nutrition, and making sure beginning players understand their own anatomy, is part of the "game plan" for the sports medicine surgeon.

Old sports injuries frequently are the source of problems later in life, especially arthritis. Starting up a new sport can raise new issues. It's a good idea to heed the warning signs of an injury and not "play through" to the point of constant pain.

We are proud to say that Tucson Orthopaedic Institute physicians have won numerous awards for their volunteer work in the sports programs of Southern Arizona schools. Our sports medicine doctors work closely with athletic trainers and coaches to protect young athletes.

Tucson Orthopaedic Institute is a proud partner of the STOP Sports Injuries campaign that was created by the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) to prevent overuse and trauma injuries among young athletes.
