COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE
In response to the COVID-19 virus, Tucson Orthopaedic Institute is taking significant precautions to ensure the safety and health of our patients and our associates. The health, safety and peace of mind of our patients is our top priority. From the beginning of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak, we have been working closely with, and following the updates from, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other agencies to stay up to date with the latest information.
To help prevent exposure and spread of the virus, we will be pre-screening all patients, employees and visitors at the check-in counter at all of our locations. Screening includes temperature checks and CDC recommended questions to identify the presence of COVID-19 signs or symptoms. We are also requiring all patients wear a facial covering to their appointment (mask, scarf, bandana), that covers both their nose and mouth, to protect our staff and other patients. Thank you for your understanding.
If you have a temperature over 100.4F or any symptoms listed below you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. COVID-19 related symptoms include:
- Fever or chills
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Muscle or body aches
- New/Recent loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting

If you are currently under post-operative care, please inform the scheduler so the provider can assess your needs.
In addition, to limit the number of people at each location, we ask that ONLY the patient enters the clinic for their scheduled appointment unless it is medically necessary that another individual attend with them. We are also currently working on a Telehealth option for those unable to come into the clinic and will make that available as soon as possible.
